Try Dives

What is a try dive?

A try dive is a short, around 30 minute, introduction to scuba diving. It's a fun way to decide if scuba diving is for you. The try dives take place in the confines of the university pool (we're not going to unleash you into the sea quite yet!).

What's involved?

At a try dive session you'll start off by having a short introduction to the world of diving. This covers how to use the equipment and what to do in the water. After that it's into the pool to actually have a go! At every point during the whole session you'll be buddied up with an instructor who'll make sure you doing everything right!

How much does a try dive cost?

Absolutely nothing!

Are there any requirements for a try dive?

There are just a couple of requirements before you can do a try dive. You need to be in general good health, and if you have any doubts it is worth talking to an instructor or exec member. You don't need to be a strong swimmer - only basic swimming competence is needed.

What should I bring for a try dive session?

For a try dive session you need to bring standard swimming kit and it's also worth bringing an old t-shirt that you don't mind wearing in the pool, as some of the scuba equipment can rub. Everything else is provided by the club.

So how can I do a try dive?
