The Sports Diver course

The Sports Diver course is the next step after completing Ocean Diver. Sports diver introduces some more advanced techniques and a great deal of rescue skills. As a qualified Sports Diver you will eventually be able to dive to 35m, after a staggered depth progression. The Sports Diver course is open to qualified Ocean Divers and crossovers that hold the equivalent qualification with another training agency.

What's involved?

The Sports Diver course consists of six theory lectures, a short pool session, a theory assessment and five open water dives. All instruction will take place under the direct supervision of a Nationally Qualified BSAC Instructor to make sure that you are nice and safe.

How much does it cost?

The Sports Diver course cost varies depending on your previous qualification. For more details please contact the Diving Officer,We would expect £20 for the materials and £20 for BSAC membership (unless you are already a BSAC member) - then there are about half a dozen dives - which you can do on trips or in Stoney, so you just pay as you dive.

Why should I do the Sports Diver course?

The Sports Diver course is an excellent way to expand your diving experience. The course teaches you how to do decompression diving (very useful for UK diving), more rescue skills, new equipment techniques and will allow you do dive to a maximum depth of 35m!
