Who are we?
SSAGO (pronounced "say go") stands for Student Scout And Guide Organisation, a national organisation to which we are affiliated. There are SSAGO clubs in many universities around the country. The society is open to anyone at all, whether or not you've been involved in Scouting or Guiding before.
What do we do?
We meet on a weekly basis as a group of friends with a shared interest in Scouting and Guiding. Our socials range from campfires, bowling, hiking, ice-skating and BBQs to relaxed bar socials in the Union. This year we're
trying to increase the range of things we do, so if there's something you want to do then let us know. We also go camping every term for a relaxing weekend, and a chance to get away from it all. We provide the opportunity
to attend larger-scale SSAGO rallies where we meet up with clubs from other universities and which are always great fun. For those who want to help out with a unit in a more traditional way, we can put you in touch with the necessary people and we aim to provide support and ideas for those members of ours who do so.
How can you join?
To join the society go to the Students' Union website and click on the Societies link where you can purchase membership. If you want to join SSAGO but you don't want to have to join Societies Federation you needn't worry as we're exempt from SocsFed membership.
