This will definitely be a season that will be remembered for the weather. Im pretty sure it will have been one of the most frustrating seasons for most of the players involved. Half the league games got called off because of the weather, and if I remember correctly out of the nine games that were played, five of them were affected by the weather. It was also a season where a few of our regular players were injured for long periods, which made getting a consistent side out every week a tough job.

On the pitch it was a mixed bag, with a few poor team performances and some positive ones. Out of the good ones was an exciting tied game against Marston (I believe our first league tied game) where we were chasing 220 odd, a thrilling game with Evenley where we nearly pulled off our first league win against them, and a rare away win at Syresham. The Syresham game (in my opinion) brought the best performance of the season with Harri Singh taking 7 wickets for not many runs. That spell completely changed the game as Syresham being in a strong position of 68 for 1 were eventually bowled out for 112. That was the best spell of spin bowling I had seen by anyone I had played with or against (something that I have already told Harri). Our bowling in general was quite good this season in most of the games. It was mainly down to accuracy and patience shown by all the bowlers. The batting on the other hand was far from consistent. If we can get our batting to click next year we will definitely be somewhere near the top of the table.

The two teams that came up from Division one are Radway and Wroxton.

Both the cup runs were similar to the league season with a lot frustrating called off games because of the rain, and both ending in disappointment as we failed to make the final of either one.

For any new potential players reading this report and thinking of joining this club, this is without a doubt the best club to play cricket for if you want to enjoy your cricket and meet some friendly people. Also, all the best to the new skipper for next year, hope it turns out to be a great season.
