At last the old website is back, ready to be updated accordingly - photos, news, planner, we'll even squeeze our new logo somewhere (due to popular demand ;-) Cheers and see ya somewhere on campus. As I'm too old and shouldn't be even writing this, lemme pass on to Kate, el Katarzyno - your time to speak up! :)

We still need to tweak the website as it looks much better in IE than FF [certain code doesn't work in Firefox] - perhaps somebody has a bit time on their hands? Finalists are really time-pressured...

The much awaited refresh&refurbishment is drawing closer and closer. As you probably see we've gently tweaked the website(and the process will probably continue over the Christmas break. The new image gallery is up and you can find pictures from most recent socials over there. It will be probably redesigned to match the design of the rest of the website though. Special 'Poland' gallery has been added too, and it can be accessed from the panel below or the gallery site. Some other additions are present as well.

We've updated the section Links, and I would like to draw your attention to the PGSN project as well as the petition which is to be sent to Polish officials sitting on a respective Parliament committee, signed by Warwick Polonia. Although it doesn't affect undergraduates, but those following an academic career, this might be a first step towards changing the situation in Polish higher education system and consequently providing a chance to set up a subsidy system for Poles starting studies abroad as well.

Ok enough of this sophisticated stuff ;) The gallery on Poland is a first step towards an extra section on Poland which might be a nice addition for all interested in Poland, but not necessarily Polish. You'll find some interesting info, links and pictures there. It should be available before Christmas Eve.

Final note and request: Firstly, as I am very short of time, and wasn't able to test new scripts and photo albums on all possible sets of hardware/resolution/browsers I kindly ask you to report any problems. I am aware that the red headers are only visible in IE, but I really can't change it before the Christmas break. Secondly, as updating, expanding and redesigning of this website takes far more time than I thought, I'd like to ask everyone who is eager to help and preferably has lots of time...(Freshers! Get involved :P Elections soon xDD) to assist me or work on new sections, especially the one on Poland. Knowledge of website design is a very helpful one in life, and looks cool on your CV too ;P [ok ok I know that I'm waffling now ;]. Anyway, guys, any help will be appreciated.

Final Final Final thing. All Poles&people interested in Poland at Warwick, sign up for the society. The link is correct now, and that's the only way to meet nearly all the remaining Poles on campus, learn about Poland, and spend together some quality time:> Nah, I know what I'm saying here ;) Polish Society is wwwicked indeed ;) Don't be shy, we're waiting for you till the very last week of the year 06/07 and the more people, the merrier, as they say :)

October&November 2006

To sum up the first two months of new year 2006/07... This year's 75% increase of Polish applicants to higher education in the UK is clearly visible at Warwick too. The amount of people interested in our society doubled which was a shock in the beginning... but now we're getting used to that ;). It seems that next year we'll have to book entire Varsity bar for the first social if this trend continues ;).

This term already saw a social in Varsity&Union, Asia's birthday Social, and paintball game vs Russian-speaking society. Some of the photos are in the Gallery section. Unfortunately we don't have proper photos from the Paintball game but it will probably change the next time we go out :>.

We've got really great plans for Terms 2 and 3 so stay tuned =)) Next events: Week 9 Social (Andrzejki) & Christmas Social, week 10
